While I have only touched upon Sumo while at Mega's, simply because it fills the void for what I need in my gaming hobby, I have always seen how the map creators here at Mega's have tried making maps more "Non-Arcade" if you will. Placing little fun objects that aren't static around the map so you can have a little play with them (Virus with the Footballs on Convey).
As you'd know, there are such things as scenario's when editing the map using Codewalker (enlighten me if there are other editors that allow you to edit scenario's), which could bring fun new ways to differentiate maps and create a more dynamic experience.
For example, let's say a map was created that was in the form of a "box", where there are 3 levels, like the towers map, where you can drive up and down etc. In the middle layer, you could make a platform which is and/or isn't accessible via vehicles that could have cool custom things happening. You could make a little mechanic interior that'll have peds actually moving inside of it, modifying vehicles and would all round bring a nice "lively" feel to maps. You'd have scenery options, too, you could have things around the sumo maps that would move and tell a story.
Maybe this is me trying to over-complicate things, I tend to like to do that, but I thought the ability to be able to have "scenes" inside and/or around maps would bring an awesome experience to Sumo. After all, Sumo is a gamemode that a large amount of people play, so investing the time would not go to waste!
Not sure how this would go performance wise, could potentially hit the object limit too, which would be an issue. Unless you have lifted that.
Nonetheless, there is a thought I had today! Hope I wasted as much of your day as possible!
Much love, Nex.
